Scranton will be the scene of holiday fun and merriment Thursday, Dec. 5.
The Friends of the Library will host a bake sale at 1 pm at the library. When the goodies are gone, the bake sale is finished.
The Scranton United Methodist Women will serve a soup supper from 5 to 7 pm at the church. The Town and Country Band, directed by Dave Swaroff, will perform a concert of seasonal music at 7 pm at the church. All are welcome.
Mr and Mrs Claus will be available for pictures and to accept letters and wish lists from 5 to 6:30 pm at the congregate meal site.
Open houses are scheduled for Thursday afternoon at MacDonald Insurance, Peoples Trust & Savings Bank, West Central Coop, Scranton Machine Shop, Scranton Telephone and Schon Lumber. The special day is coordinated by the Scranton Betterment Committee.
